The International Toy Fairs in New York and Nuremburg, Germany are always hot topics of discussion at InventHelp this time of year. This year was no exception, as the hot new toys were out in full force. Here InventHelp highlights three of the inventions that have caused the biggest buzz in 2010.

Mattel's Barbie Video Girl Named Top "Trend + Lifestyle" Toy

After her sensational European debut in early February, Barbie Video Girl went on to enthrall attendees at the American International Toy Fair in New York, hosted by the Toy Industry Association.

Barbie Video Girl, featuring a high-quality video camera inside her chest and an LCD screen on her back, was met with widespread acclaim at the International Toy Fair in Nuremburg, Germany. She won the "Trend + Lifestyle" Toy Award, one of eight toy categories that were highlighted at the show. (We're sure the judges' eyes were drawn to the prominent pendent at her neck – "Say CHEESE!") Toy industry insiders say Barbie Video Girl was developed to encourage young girls to embrace the current multimedia experience in our culture. Mattel has not as yet announced pricing or a release date for this newest addition to the Barbie dynasty, but no doubt playing with Barbie Video Girl will prepare the grade school crowd for their first camera cell phones!

Yo-Be Sling Disk Swoops into Nuremburg Toy Fair to Capture Its Prize

Los Angeles-based Manley Toy Quest captured top honors in the "Fun + Sport" category at the Nuremburg fair with its innovative, aerobatic Yo-Be Sling Disk, the newest addition to the company's Banzai outdoor toy product line. The Yo-Be combines attributes of the yo-yo and the Frisbee® for a brand new toy category that fosters improvement in hand-eye coordination as the user masters control of the Yo-Be's unique aerodynamic styling and elastic cord tether. These design features combine synergistically for skill-building, addictive fun as well as the expression of personal Yo-Be flying style. Toy Quest's Yo-Be Sling Disks retail for about $15 at U.S. outlets.

Razor's Sole Skate Honored with Nomination

Judges at the International Toy Fair in Nuremburg, Germany, also considered the diminutive, three-wheeled Razor Sole Skate, nominated in the "Fun + Sport" category of product innovations. The pivoting front wheels and low, axle-level platform produce a unique ride and maneuverability, while the shorter length and lighter weight of the foot-skate make it exceedingly tote-able in any skater's backpack.

We at InventHelp are always excited to see the latest toy inventions on display at Toy Fair. InventHelp will continue to keep you updated on these trends, but in the meantime, check out www.toyassociation.org to learn more.
