Admit it. You scoff at people who don't have a Bluetooth. Why would anyone want to have a wire running from the headset in their ear to the cell phone in their pocket? The freedom that goes along with a wireless earpiece that stays in your ear better than a wired one ever did is only one of the perks. And those poor souls who still hold their mobile phones up to their ears. Oh, the humanity. But in all seriousness, with that freedom comes responsibility. Let's face it. Not everyone can use a Bluetooth without losing track of their phone several times a day. If you're one of those people, the ZOMM alarm is the invention for you.

Described as a "wireless leash for any Bluetooth-enabled phone", the award winning ZOMM is truly ingenious. This small gadget attaches to a keychain or clips to an item of clothing or bag. The ZOMM – which uses Bluetooth technology – sounds an audible, visual and tactile alarm when you are more than 30 feet away from your phone. With the ZOMM's piercing beep, flashing lights and vibration, it would be difficult to leave your mobile phone behind. Not only does the ZOMM save you the inconvenience of, once again, forgetting your mobile phone, it also functions as a panic alarm and speakerphone. You can answer calls with the ZOMM or send them to voicemail with a touch of a button. This one touch technology also lets you call emergency assistance from anywhere in the world. Depending on usage, a single charge of the lithium-ion battery can last for up to three days. It's not just absentminded mobile phone users who are taking notice of the ZOMM. The ZOMM was recognized for both its practical and clever features at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), in Las Vegas, when it won "The Best of Innovations" Award.

"Mobile phones are packed full of personal information and confidential business communication, so losing one is a nightmare for most people," said Henry Penix, co-founder of ZOMM. "My wife originally thought of ZOMM to prevent our family from leaving our phones at restaurants or coffee shops. With the added features of call notification and personal security, it became a 'must-have' companion for every mobile phone we own."

ZOMM is currently not yet available in stores and is in limited production. Color choices include white or black and it comes with a clear plastic belt clip, a micro-USB wall charger, micro-USB update cable, key ring and quick start guide. ZOMM is available for purchase from the Zomm Store for $79.99 plus shipping and handling.
